Don’t Look At the Burros Wonderful early morning Spring adventure, so I thought. I have been hiking with my dogs frequently at Red Rock National Conservation Park. It has some pristine and exciting hiking and biking paths. It is only twenty-twenty five minutes West of Las Vegas; what a centering experience to leave the glitter behind. In the early morning just before sunrise one encounters the critters of the desert. The burros are plentiful, long horn sheep are clicking (the sound of the hooves on the rocks as they run off) to the higher levels, the coyotes are scrambling, the rabbits trying to get back to their hiding places, and once in a while you see the remnants that the mountain lion has left behind. I have wanted to try out my brother’s mountain bike he let me use it for the morning. I parked in the lot, got the bike off the rack and started my adventure. I stayed on the paved road for 3-4 miles and then proceeded to take a path to the wild side. I was cruising, happy and taking in all that was around me and then wham, I was head over heals and was not part of the bike anymore. I lay on the ground for a few minutes to see if I could move my arms, legs and head. I had all my movement but was sore. Picked the bike up, it was not as banged up as I was and just got on it and road back to the car. So began and ended my day of trail biking, but began my home treatment for the aches and pain that were beginning. The BodySense Knee Wrap came out of the freezer first, then the Back Wrap. The ice packs offered hope. The injuries were not sufficient enough to require doctor’s care but I know I needed to alternate hot packs and cold packs. My lower back was stiff, knees hurt even though I had pads on and my neck was hurting. While the cold Knee Wrap and Back Wrap were easing the pain, I added the warm NeckEase around my neck. The soothing aromas, moist heat and weight on the pressure points began to relax the tension. After 30 or so minutes I warmed up the Back Wrap and Knee Wrap which are filled with herbs and spices for their analgesic and sedating properties to relieve pain, promote relation, enhance sleep and reduce physical and emotional tension. Prior injuries similar to these gave me the knowledge that the treatment was going to be for a few days. I still wanted to ride a bike, but stay on paved roads. Did not want to deal with sciatica pain relief beyond exercise. My partners Trek Lime bike, used for neighborhood cruising without the uniform of off road biking was right up my alley. My knee joint pain due to cycling was apparent; it was going to take a while to loosen up. I will ride in town for awhile and then get off the beaten path once more.
